Our SinGaPore TriP

Our trip to Singapore was quite interesting. Though we did not get to go many places, we had a lot of fun and a lot of walking around which was what I was hoping for. A holiday in Singapore can make me lose a few pounds as it will be quite difficult to hail a taxi and also quite costly.

Just below our apartment, there are plenty of shops and even convenience stores. As it is located around Orchard Area, everything is pricey. However, Kayden enjoyed himself and had lots of fun too. When we were on the plane, he was a little bit frightened as it was his first time on plane. He kept saying he wanted to go home as the plane was about to alight from the airport. He did see a lot of planes in the airport and even a helicopter and fire engine. I had to point to them to keep his mind off taking off but the sound reminded him that we were about to take off. However, once in the air, he saw the clouds and sea - he was amazed by such wonderful views.

Thankfully, on the way there, Kayden slept throughout the flight and only woke up when we were about to land in Singapore. Once again, he was amazed by the different sizes of planes at the Singapore Airport. He kept saying "Wau" and pointing here and there...

On our way back to Brunei, Kayden did not sleep throughout the flight but only for half an hour. He woke up when the plane was in mid-air but he did not make a fuss. He probably got used to the idea of flying and even enjoyed himself. Though he is still young, I am sure he will not forget this wonderful experience of flying.

TrusT

I haven't written on my blog for nearly a month as a lot had happened.. I don't even know how to start. Why I wrote the word 'trust' is because it was what caused all these happenings to occur. I did things I regretted but I can't turn time back to the way it was before. I just have to tell myself to go on and be strong. I have to turn over to a new leaf and try to get things back the way it used to be, if possible.

The only one regret I have is my precious family, both the "K"s of my life. I am really sorry to cause you two all these pain and sorrow. I know only time can prove what is to be done and I am doing my best to make that happen too...

Patience and tolerance are what I have to learn in this new life of mine. I have to tell myself to be honest and open-minded. Time really flies by very fast and it's already a month since that 'incident' happened!

I pray I have the strength to go on and hope things will turn out the way they are supposed to be.....

God bless everyone I love......... Amen

21.10.2010 - A dAy To ReMeMbeR

Birthdays are supposed to be happy moments shared with your love ones. However, this year, I told myself that I won't be celebrating my birthday. I feel no joy celebrating it alone where all my love ones are far apart from me. Although this is so, I still appreciate all the birthday greetings sent to me and best of all, I received the one message I was waiting for since last night. I thought he would have forgotten about it but he did not. Thank you....

CheeSe ToAsT

Ever heard of french toast? Well, I tried another kind of combination last week - cheese toast - and the result was stunning. I never imagined food would look so beautiful. Was a little hesitant in whether to eat or not, haha..

Though it look simple, well, to me, it's a beauty.. esp when taking it out from the oven and hearing the sizzling sound!

Recently Little Kayden got addicted to playing golf on Wii and is getting better at it too. Children nowadays are so lucky compared to my time thirty years back. With ongoing and improved technology, kids are getting smarter and brighter every single day. Who knows one day, they might be way better than us adults.. haha

A BoRn AthLeTe

Yesterday, we took Little Kayden for a walk in RBA The walk turned into a jog and then into runs. Actually Little Kayden was trying to imitate his Daddy and God mum who were doing their jogs as well. Overall, I can say Little Kayden enjoyed his little runs and boy oh boy, did he sweat a lot! He even managed to finish his bottle of water and kept wanting more.

This is Little Kayden's latest stuff toy - Shaun, the sheep. On the day of purchase, Shaun basically was on his first shopping trip with Little Kayden. I took these pictures that evening.

StArT oF Pre - ScHooL at ISB

Little Kayden started pre-school last Wednesday. As it was his first day, I stayed with him the entire day and he enjoyed himself - he even threw a scoop of sand onto me when I wasn't watching him. There were a few children who were still crying even though they started pre-school earlier than Little Kayden ( some started two weeks ago ).

However, today is Little Kayden's second day at pre-school. When he wasn't looking at my way, I went out of the classroom so as to let him learn to be independent. Overall, he did cried on and off throughout his day at pre-school today. Well, it's quite a good start though. The teacher told me Little Kayden did participate in the singing and hand action songs. She even took a picture of Little Kayden playing with some toys.

Luckily, it's the start of the third terms holidays so I can spend more time with Little Kayden at home and in school. I have to start his toilet training and prepare some healthy snacks for him to bring to school. Till now, his favourite food is bread and hot dogs.

SuPeR DaDDy's BdAy

Two nights ago, we celebrated Kelvin's birthday. This year, we stayed home and celebrated his birthday. Each and every one of us prepared some of his favourite dishes ( as shown in the pictures below ):

His birthday cake - Fresh Cream Fruit Cake

Crispy chicken wings fried by me :-p

Broccoli with canned mushroom

Braised duck with long cabbage prepared by Mum...

Sweet and sour fish by Mum too

Sushi set from Excapade, Kiulap, by sister in law.

Everyone enjoyed themselves tat night. We took a lot of pictures of Little Kayden too. He was hyperactive that night. Non-stop running up and down in the living room. He even put cream on my head and pointed it out, making everyone laughed out loud. What an enjoyable night to remember!

Little Kayden is learning to write, or should I say, scribble, hehe...

From the picture, you can see it's all scribbles....

He just loved doing them. When he draws, he would say "ball" meaning he's actually trying to draw a ball.

Currently, I am teaching him to write one (1) and he's getting the hang of it as he keeps on practising. Little Kayden will be starting pre-school soon on 1st September 2010.

NeW DiM SuM ResTauRanT at GdG

Last week, we went to a new dim sum restaurant to try out the food there. It seems that the dim sum and food there were much fresher and tastier than any other restaurants, especially the egg tarts. Kayden enjoyed himself very much.

Eating char siew pau. He can eat almost two, but not the filling inside the bun.

Among all the shots I took of him, this is the one he doesn't move much.
The other pictures were slightly blur.

InTeR-ClaSS DaNciNg CoMpeTiTioN 2010

This year, I was not really satisfied with the dancing results competition. I kind of felt it was unjustified. Our dance was so unique and our pupils put in a lot of effort into performing their best for this competition. For them to lose and get 5th position, it broke my heart - some of them even cried out.

However, I know that they all did their best to perform. Good job, girls. Thanks for all your effort!

DiNNeR aT KimCHi

We went to try out a Korean restaurant in Qlap area last Sunday. So far, Korean food is something I have yet to like especially kimchi. I don't particularly like it - maybe it's the colour or the taste that I, myself, am not so sure why I just don't like to eat them. But what caught my attention was their 'pusu' - I just adored them. There is a slight sweetish flavour and they are not too dry.

So, I ordered a bento set which is more towards Japanese style. I guess my favourite is still Japanese food. I just love them ;-p

BaNdAr's ViEw aT NiGhT

As always, every year, before His Majesty's Big Day, Bandar is lit up with colourful lights and decorations. However, I noticed that some of them were still the same as last year. Therefore, I dare say not much changes though....

Normally town life is supposed to be lively, it doesn't seem that way in Brunei. It looks more like a ghost town - not a single person in sight!

Back 2 ScHo0L a.k.a. WoRk

It's the second day back to work and I am feeling tired. Probably it's because of the two weeks break, there were no markings and now it's back to marking, marking and more markings. First day back at work, my voice was feeling a little strain - rarely raised my voice during my holidays and now have to raise slightly louder so as to get the pupils' attention.

Last night, I managed to capture these pictures. Looking at them warms up my heart. I am glad for these moments spend together.
